This is a poignant example of how and why so many people today are still not bearers of health. You would expect that a commonly held reputable organization such as Cleveland Clinic would be a source of correct information. Instead, I reveal an example of even those clinicians who seemingly have proper education on topics of dietary health are in fact misdirecting people with incorrect information.

A quick look and evaluation of a Facebook post by Cleveland Clinic on the topic of what fat is good for heart health shows that Registered Dietitians on staff are not aware of the science behind revealing that the guidelines held for so many years are in fact unsubstantiated.  MUFA and PUFA fats are indeed NOT proven to support heart health and more importantly saturated fats are not harmful to your heart and do not clog the arteries.

A 2014 meta-analysis and in depth review of all the current scientific literature proves that “the pattern of findings from this analysis did not yield clearly supportive evidence for current  cardiovascular guidelines that encourage high consumption of polyunsaturated fatty acids and low consumption of saturated  fats. Nutritional guidelines on fatty acids and cardiovascular
guidelines may require reappraisal to reflect the current evidence” ~ Annals of Internal Medicine
